RHS Decoupage Paper - Roundabouts
Roundabouts is adapted from an engraved illustration of a design for a knot garden. This Annie Sloan with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Decoupage Paper uses a garden plan from Stephen Blake: “The Compleat Gardeners Practice”. London: 1664. Printed for Thomas Pierrepoint.
This bold circle and square design uses Aubusson Blue (available in Chalk Paint™ and Annie Sloan Wall Paint) and Chalk Paint™ in Tilton, a colourway reminiscent of Portuguese tiles.
*George Brookshaw’s “Six Birds, Accurately Drawn and Coloured after Nature, with Full Directions for the Young Artist”, designed as a companion to the “Treatise on Flower Painting”. Each colour plate has a matching uncoloured plate so the reader can copy the colour illustration. Brookshaw (1751-1823) was an artist and teacher of flower painting who exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1819.
All the papers from the Annie Sloan with Royal Horticultural Society collaboration including the geometric designs and the flora and fauna have been printed on dyed tissue papers. They have been designed to work best with Chalk Paint™ and Annie Sloan Image Medium.
