Chalk Paint Product Information & Returns Policy
Chalk Paint Product Information
PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO EXCHANGE OR REFUND ON PAINT OR WAX. Thanks for your understanding, this is a quality control issue.
Chalk Paint™ is the brand name for the unique water-based decorative paint developed by Annie Sloan's 30 years ago. It was developed by Annie specifically for furniture, however it can be applied to most surfaces and rarely requires any priming or sanding before painting.
Chalk Paint™ produces extensive coverage approx 13.3 sq metres per litre (equivalent to a small dresser). It can be thinned with water and used as a wash.
Annie Sloan Soft Wax can be used to protect Chalk Paint and provides a subtle sheen. For an aged look or for more creative effects, Annie's range of coloured waxes (Dark Wax, White Wax and Black Wax) can be used. You can use the paint to create almost any effect or colour - the possibilities are limited only by your style and creativity!
PREGNANCY
It is perfectly safe to use Chalk paint™ while pregnant. It is non-toxic and odour-free.
We suggest that pregnant women ask someone else to apply Soft Wax on their behalf. While there is nothing inherently harmful in the was, the fumes produced as the wax dries may cause a feeling of lightheadness, to which pregnant women may be more susceptible. There are no lasting harmful effects to using our Soft Wax, only the immediate risk of feeling lightheaded or dizzy.
CHILDREN'S ROOMS AND TOY SAFETY
Chalk Paint™ is non-toxic and perfectly safe for children's furniture and walls. Annie recommends allowing 7 days for the Chalk Paint and Soft Wax to cure.
FLAMMABILITY
Chalk Paint™ is waterbased and not flammable. They are not, however, classified as fire retardant paints (BS 476). The are safe for use on fire surrounds, radiators and hearths.
ANIMAL TESTING
None of our products have been tested on animals. Chalk Paint™ and Lacquer do not contain any animal products, however Soft Wax (both clear and dark) contains beeswax.
